LWC Baseball opens NAIA National Tournament today at 2pmCT

PADUCAH, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College baseball team begins play in the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round today as the Blue Raiders face Bellevue (Neb.) University at 2pm,CT, today, Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Brooks Stadium, 2400 Brooks Stadium Drive, Paducah, KY.



The Lindsey Wilson-Bellevue game is the second of three scheduled games today in the five-team Paducah Bracket.

Eight other opening round sites also begin today and run through potentially Monday, May 14. 2012.

In Paducah, fourth-seeded Peru State (35-16) and fifth-seeded Grand View (27-27) opens the tournament at 10amCT with the winner playing top-seeded LSU-Shreveport (48-4) at 6:30pmCT in Thursday's finale.

Today marks the first-ever meeting between second-seeded Lindsey Wilson (41-14) and third-seeded Bellevue (39-19). Both Lindsey Wilson and Bellevue won its conference regular season crown before falling in their respective conference tournaments.

Lindsey Wilson is making the program's first-ever appearance in the national tournament while Bellevue is making its 15 overall appearance and its fourth opening round appearance. The Bruins won the 1995 national championship.
