Judge Ann Melton and Pride Coordinator A. L Sinclair spent the entire morning, Monday, May 7, 2012, in each of Col. William Casey's six Kindergarten classes answering questions about recycling and the benefits of the Adair Recycling Center.



Kindergarten teacher Shay Knifley said she was extremely impressed at how well the students were able to use the vocabulary describing recycling. Ms. Knifley said recycling has been an important concept that has been taught and re-taught in thematic units throughout the year. - Alan W. Reed

In a role she likes best, being with children, Adair County Judge Ann Melton talked with Mrs. Shay Knifley's kindergarten class about the Adair County Recycling Center. She and A. L. Sinclair, the Adair County Solid Waste Coordinator, visited all six kindergarten classes at the school this morning, May 7, 2012.

Sinclair, Adair County Solid Waste Coordinator regularly puts in to practice what he considers the biggest major factor in ecology: Education. Above, he's talking with one of six classes he and Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton visited this morning to talk with kindergarteners about the Adair County Recycling Center. Patience and teaching, he says, pays off more than hair trigger punishment. When kids learn about the environment at an early age, they never forget it, he stresses.
