Dallas is overall Grand Champion Boer Doe at Horse Cave, KY Over 100 Boer Goats at Derby Classic and Jackpot Wether Show on May 12, 2012 Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Greg and Reta Garrett The Kentucky Goat Producers Association 14th annual Derby Classic and Jackpot Wether Show was held in Horse Cave, KY, May 5, 2012. This year, the Derby Classic was a double sanctioned show, featuring the International Boer Goat Association and the American Boer Goat Association. Producers from around the county brought approximately 100-120 Boer goats to compete for the highest honors. Greg and Frosty Garrett of Edmonton, KY, raise 100% registered Boer Goats and Great Pyrenees dogs. In the International Boer Goat Association sanctioned show, the Garrett's 2 month old Dallas, shown by Beth Garrett, was crowned Grand Champion Doe for the junior division (0-12 months). Dallas also won the prestigious award as the IBGA Overall Grand Champion Doe. Big Jake, a 2 year old buck, received the Reserve Grand Champion ribbons in the senior buck division in BOTH the IBGA and ABGA shows. The Garretts will be showing their goats in Louisville, KY, at the National International Boer Goat Association Show in July. -Greg and Reta Garrett, 2925 Randolph Road, Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY.
