Adair Co., KY, superintendent search screening committee meets A successor to Superintendent Darrell Treece (2003 photo, left). Fifteen applications received. Committee will meet again Tuesday, May 8, 2012, to further evaluate applications. New superintendent expected to be hired in time to take office after June 30, 2012. Will replace Supt. Darrell Treece, who has announced he would not be superintendent after June 30, 2012. Mr. Treece has served since 2003. Click on headline for complete story, screening committee, details Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story The Adair County School Superintendent Screening Committee met for the first time last night, Thursday, May 3, 2012, and received 15 applications for the superintendent position. The committee appointed the parent representative, David Herbst, as Chairman of the Committee. Other representatives are: - Teachers: Loretta Rainwater and Pam GeisselhardtThe committee will meet at 7pmCT, next Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Adair County Board of Education Central Office Board Room, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, to further evaluate the applications. The screening committee will narrow the list to three candidates to forward to the Board of Education. A final decision on the new superintendent is expected prior to the June 30, 2012 end of term for the present Superintendent Darrell Treece,, who announced earlier that he would no longer be superintendent after that date. Mr. Treece was appointed Superintendent at a Special Called meeting on May 1, 2003, when he was hired to replace Superintendent Keith Young.
