Mary Victoria Loy Green, Adair Co., KY (1938-2012)

She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded Adair County family. She leaves 18 direct living descendants. She was a member of the Praise Assembly of God Church in Columbia, KY and was a retail sales clerk for several years in Louisville, KY

Mary Victoria Loy Green, "Vickie Green", age 74 of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 at 7:45amCT, at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY after several weeks illness.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Pastor Bob McCann and Pastor Wade Hughes the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Loy Cemetery, 1740 Loy Cemetery Road, Fairplay, KY/ The family request visiting after 3:30pmCT on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home and all day Monday at the funeral home.

Mary Victoria Loy Green, "Vickie Green" was born Thursday, April 14, 1938 at Fairplay, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Robert Elmer and Nola Brummett Loy. She died Friday, April 27, 2012 in Greensburg, Green County, KY at the age of 74 years, 13 days.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell Russell "Buddy" Green of Columbia, KY and the following:
  • One son: Norman Green and wife Diane of Louisville, KY

  • Two daughters: Terri Joiner and husband David of Louisville, KY and Bonnie Foster of Louisville, KY

  • Three brothers: David Loy of LaGrange, KY; Sam Loy of Eminence, KY, and Joe Frank Loy of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Evalee Churchill of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Sophia Wheelock of Ypsilanti, Michigan

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Six great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by one sister: Kathleen Buchanan and five brothers Dellus Loy, Elmer Loy Jr., Clifton Loy, Johnny Loy and Wesley Loy.

Mrs. Green was a member of the Praise Assembly Church in Columbia, KY and a retail sales clerk for several years in Louisville, KY.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Praise Assembly Mortgage Fund 310 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY 42728 or may be left at the funeral home.
