Tom E. Holmes age 82 a resident of Glasgow Health and Rehab passed awayMonday, April 23, 2012 at 10:40amCT, after several weeks illness.

Funeral service Friday, April 27, 2012 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street Columbia, KY with Bro. Gerald Reliford and Bobby Richardson, the officiating clergy. Burial in the Bearwallow Cemetery, 6080 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. The family requests visitation after 2pmCT, on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

He was born Friday, April 11, 1930 in Adair County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Leslie and Clarice Holmes of Adair County. He died Monday, April 23, 2012, in Glasgow, Barren County, Ky, at the age of 82 years, 12 days.

Mr. Holmes was a retired pharmacist and operated the George J. Ellis Drug Store on the square in Glasgow for 42 years.

Survivors include the following:
  • One daughter: Debbie Modjeski of Pennsylvania

  • One son: Tom Holmes Jr. of Glasgow, KY

  • Two brothers: Russell Holmes of Columbia, KY; and Sam B. Holmes of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Elizabeth Holmes Burton of Columbia, KY

  • One grandchild

  • Several nieces and nephew

  • And a host of relatives and friends
