It's Earth Day: April 22, 2012 Today, Sunday, April 22, 2012 is EARTH DAY Many Events have already been held in public schools, local colleges and universities, and many churches will be having Earth Day events today. We encourage submissions, including photos and stories of events which have happened, and announcements of programs and events to come. For more on Earth Day, there's a good entry in Wikipedia at EARTH DAY. There's also an interesting story about an Earth Day promotion, a very low energy light bulb, and LED one, which lasts for 20 years - and costs $60. Here's a link to the story at the BBC online: US introduces $60 LED light bulb. All the stories say that the costs of the bulbs will be coming down, and in fact Amazon has LED bulbs for as little as $10. (Shop for LED Light Bulbs at Amazon). We'd like reader comments on the subject. - CM This story was posted on 2012-04-22 04:24:23
