LWC Women's Tennis cruises to MSC Tournament finals LWC defeats Cumberlands of Barbourville, KY, 5-0 to gain finals.Lndsey Wilson vs. Campbellsville in the championship, scheduled for 10amCT/11amET, on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Boone Tennis Center, 454 Complex Drive, Lexington, KY. By Chris Wells News from Lindsey Wilson College LEXINGTON, KY - It was a clean sweep for the Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team today as the Blue Raiders beat University of the Cumberlands 5-0 in the Mid-South Conference Tournament semifinals at the Boone Tennis Center, 454 Complex Drive, Lexington, KY. The top-seeded Blue Raiders (14-3) move into Saturday's finals against the winner of the other semifinal winner featuring No. 2-seed Campbellsville University and No. 3-seed Georgetown College. Lindsey Wilson sprinted out of the gates winning all three doubles matches in convincing fashion. Lindsey Wilson's Anna Gaprindashvili and Rocio Cardo secured the first point of the postseason with an 8-0 win over Cumberlands' Lindsay Collette and Kaitlin Daugherty in the third-seeded doubles match to give the Blue Raiders the 1-0 lead. In the No. 2 doubles match, Diana Gerlakh and Laura Vergara improved to 13-3 this season with an 8-2 win over Shelby Muff and Kaitlin Smith to double the Blue Raiders lead. Lindsey Wilson made it a clean sweep of doubles as Trina Slapeka and Slavica Milanovic - ranked No. 7 in the NAIA - - beat Erin Hart and Neesha Thirumalaichelvam 8-3 for the 3-0 lead. The Blue Raiders needed just two singles matches to close out the fourth-seeded Patriots (5-14). Gerlakh and Vergara each recorded 6-0, 6-0 wins over their opponents in the second and fourth-seeded singles to send the Blue Raiders into the finals. With the five team points, the remainder of the matches was halted.
