He was resident of Indiana at the time of his death and a native of Casey County, KY. He will be returned to his native soil for services and final resting place. He was a member of a large, respected South Central Kentucky family with relatives in Indiana, as well. He was a logger and loved hunting

Hershel Hicks, age 68, passed away Sunday April 15, 2012 in Anderson, Indiana

Funeral services are 1pmET/12pm noon CT, Friday April 20, 2012 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Edward Brown officiating. Burial will be in Whited Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 11amET/10amCT, until funeral service.



Hershel Hicks, Casey Co., KY (1944-2012)

Born Sunday, March 13, 1944 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Edgar and Minnie Bedwell Hicks. He died Sunday, April 15, 2012, in Anderson, Madison County, Indiana, at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 2 days.

He was a logger and loved to hunt.

Survivors include the following:
  • A son: Jimmy Hicks of Kokoma, IN

  • A daughter: Susan and (Marvin) Stanley of Anderson, IN

  • Companion: Sherry Wilson

  • Two grand-daughters

  • Two great-grandchildren

  • Two brothers: Glen and (Linda) Hicks of Liberty and Jerry and (Virginia) Hicks of Somerset, KY

  • And sister: Judy Colvin of Anderson, Indiana
