Memory of woman caged in old jail - 50 + years ago - lingers She's glad space for the female prisoners has improved so much Ruth Ann Campbell writes: Hi Ed, I remember when I first started to work for the state as a social worker climbing up stairs in the old jail to visit the mother of a child I was working with. The space she had was so small and one could not stand up. That memory has stayed with me all these years. That was over 50 years ago. It was like she was a caged animal. Glad the space for the female prisoners has improved greatly. - Ruth AnnComments re photo 44757 Favorite Old Photo Old Adair County Jail 18941985 This story was posted on 2012-04-17 08:41:36
