Doris Van Zant, 94, Edmonton, KY (d. April 14, 2012)

She was a member of a large, highly regarded Metcalfe County, KY family. She leaves 17 direct living descendants

Doris VanZant age 94 of Edmonton died Saturday April 14, 2012 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.Funeral services will be 2pmCT, Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the VanZant Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Monday, April 16, 2012 at the funeral home.



She was the daughter of the late Ben and Emma Cassady Coleman.

She is survived by:
  • One son: Carlos VanZant of Kokomo, IN

  • One brother: Zack Coleman of Edmonton, KY

  • Six grandchildren Tim VanZant of Edmonton, KY; Jerry Dale VanZant of Georgetown, KY; Karla Richey, Stacey Ireland, and Tonya Lauderbaugh of Kokomo IN., Todd VanZant of Indianapolis, IN

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • Two special nieces Janette Duncan and Linda Akin
Besides her parents she was preceded death by her Husband Odell VanZant, one son Jerry VanZant, one daughter Mazetta Norvell, two brothers Joe and Alfred Coleman, three sisters Virginia VanZant, Nancy Davis, and Louise Keltner.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
