Wild Turkey album with 3 great stories from the 2012 hunt

There are three great 2012 Wild Turkey Hunt photos and short items this morning. The photos are all attached to this article.
  • John Luke Partin was hunting with his Dad John Ray Partin early Saturday morning, April 14, 2012, on the home farm at Bliss, KY when he took this nice Eastern Wild Turkey. The Gobbler had a 9 inch beard 1.5 inch spurs and weighed 22 pounds and 12 ounces. The big bird fell prey to his Dad's calling using a Cane Creek Call made in Kentucky and purchased locally at Day and Day Feed and Pet. - Terry Partin

  • Hayden Bennett had two good reasons to be excited, and that probably explains why he barely slept a wink Friday night! Saturday morning, April 14, 2012 was his first turkey hunting adventure with his Pa, Jimmy Stone; and he also had a visit from the tooth fairy last night! The attached picture is of Hayden, minus his front tooth, his Pa, and the 20 pound turkey that Hayden called in. The turkey once resided in the Clay Ridge community of Adair County. Both Hayden and his Pa live in Columbia. Hayden's parents are Scott and LeAnna Bennett and he has a very proud little sister, Addie Bennett. Pa is married to one of the most important people in the entire equation -Granny (Phyllis Stone). Granny will be in charge of cooking the spoils of the hunt for all to enjoy! - Melissa Stone

  • And veteran master hunter Daril Salyers took a 25 lb., 10 1/2 inch beard, 1 1/4 inch spurs turkey on opening morning in Gradyville, KY. Frances Salyers
The photos were all posted first thing this morning. We'll be posting more, as received, first thing each morning. Send your photo using any Contact/Submit button.
