Story not yet complete, clicking for more accesses story in progress Reading of Roads Adair County will have some colorful and apt names for new roads being named for segments which have been created since the rebuilding of KY 61 South, now almost complete - from the Jumping Off Place south of the Louie B. Nunn to just north of the Sparksville Church of the Nazarene. Introduced for first reading last night by Adair County 911 Addressing and Mapping Coordinator Justin Bailey were the following, all in Magistrate Perry Reeder's 4th Magisterial District: - Goldenrod Lane: The first segment, just south of the Jumping Off Place, fronting the residences of Junior Stotts and Fred Sexton. The first readings were unanimously approved by 7-0 roll call votes. County treasury stands at $1,405,008.63 In the absence of County Treasurer Barry Corbin, Adair County Judge Ann Melton gave the treasurer's report. At the end of March, 2012, the county had a reconciled balance of $1,405,008.63 in all funds. The court approved the budget unanimously on 7-0 roll call vote, and approved budget transfers in the same manner. The pre-approved transfers, up to the amounts following, approved: 1) $7,500 from the General Fund to the Green River Animal Shelter (GRAS). 2) $50,000 from the General Fund to the Jail Fund. 3) $15,000 from the General Fund to the 911 Fund. And a correction on an entry: $18,740.10 from the General Fund to the GRAS which was part of an insurance check for storm damage deposited to the General Fund. That portion was then transferred to the GRAS Fund for repairs at that facility. Judge Melton said that part of the reason for the strong fiscal condition was that the mild winter had been easier on the road department leaving that fund in a strong position, as well as tight, fiscally conservative management of county monies. Court approves First Reading of Synthetic Marijuana ordinance The court approves the first reading of an ordinance "prohibiting the possession or sale of AM cannabinoids, CP Cannabinoids, JWH Cannabinoids or HU Cannabinoids: Synthethic Cannbinoids Agents." on a 7-0 roll call vote, on a motion by Magistrate Billy Rowe (District 7), with a second by Magistrate Billy Dean Coffey (District 5), with Joe Rogers (6), Harold Burton (1), Daryl Flatt (2), Sammy Baker (3), and Perry Reeder (4), joining in the affirmative. In routine matters: The Court approved several routine matters unanimously, including an NCRS Budget/Plan of work, minutes of the March 2012 regular meeting, payment of bills and additions, and since there were no court orders, no action was taken on that agenda item. End of Meeting Report for April 10, 2012 Regular monthly Adair County Fiscal Court meetings are held at7:00pmCT, each second Tuesday. The meetings are open to thepublic.
