News from Adair County Garden Club

Thanks to volunteers from the Adair County Garden Club, our friends from the city of Columbia and donations from our community the grounds at the Trabue House have never looked lovelier.

So many gardens benefitted from the ACGC's recent Spring Freecycle Program including the historic Trabue House in Columbia. Thanks to the generous donations from Walmart, Marsha Walker, Dawn Comer, and Lucille Lemon volunteers added beautiful Azalea gardens, blooming trees, a shade garden and a perennial garden to the landscape at this lovely home.

"The Trabue House is a labor of love" writes Barbara Armitage, president of the ACGC. "Volunteers devote more than 500 hours each year to designing and maintaining these gardens".

The Trabue House is available for meetings and perfect for parties. For information on reserving the house contact the Columbia Mayor's office at 270-284-6183.

Remember that the Garden Club invites everyone to join us. We meet on the 4th Thursday of each month in a variety of locations.

If you can help or would like to become a member of the ACGC please call Barbara at 270-250-2979.
