COLUMBIA, KY - Adam Peacock was a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with three RBIs, four runs scored and a stolen base as he led a potent Lindsey Wilson offense to a 14-3 win over Pikeville University, (Pikeville, KY) in seven innings on Friday night at Egnew Park.

The Blue Raiders (27-10, 12-4 MSC) scored their 14 runs on 14 hits as the game originally scheduled for nine innings was shortened by run rule after taking a 10-run lead after seven innings.

While Peacock was perfect, he wasn't alone in having a big output at the plate to help Lindsey Wilson record its 12th straight win.

Second baseman Tyler Bernard hit a grand slam in the fifth inning on his only hit of the game, first baseman Manuel Ozoria drove in three runs on one hit and third baseman Ryan Williams went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two doubles.

Right fielder Jeff Kerian had a rare 0-for-0 showing at the plate after making five appearances. Kerian drew four walks in the game and was also hit by a pitch.

Derek Cape (8-1) earned the win on the mound, allowing three runs on seven hits with 11 strikeouts in six innings of work. Rob Kurtz finished off the top of the seventh without allowing a hit and adding a strikeout.

The Bears' bats weren't silent, finishing with seven hits as both center fielder Brad Andrews and third baseman Jason Rosen finished with two hits. Andrews scored a run in the game, while Rosen also drew a walk.

Pikeville (8-26, 1-12 MSC) starter David Bishop (2-6) took the loss after giving up six runs on four hits in just 1-1/3 innings.

Lindsey Wilson took control of the game early as shortstop Leandro Perez led off with a double and came around to score on Peacock's hit in the next at bat. The Blue Raiders would score two runs in the inning and add four more in the second to take an early 6-0 lead.

The shutout was short lived as the Bears found one inning of offense in the top of the third. Cape walked left fielder Adam Overbay to start off the frame, then saw Pikeville hit three straight singles to score a run.

Pikeville would score two more runs in the inning on a pair of sacrifice flies, but it would be the only runs of the game for the visitors as Lindsey Wilson added six in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth to clinch the win.

Bernard's grand slam in the fifth was a no doubter when it left his bat and sailed over the left-field fence, turning an 8-3 Blue Raider lead into a 12-3 route in a hurry.

Lindsey Wilson and Pikeville finish off the final two games of the three-game series at 12pm noon CT on Saturday, April 7, 2012 with a doubleheader at Egnew Park, inside Lindsey Wilson Sports Park, 820 Hanley Lane, Columbia, KY.
