Photos may be included. Links to candidate websites will be posted free, 1 time, in Candidate Announcements. Todd Hoskins' announcement is the fourth (and final) we received for 2012. Candidate Announcement from Todd Hoskins Honored to have opportunity to follow in Sen. McGaha's footsteps Kentucky Farm Bureau Agent, Todd Hoskins, of Liberty has officially announced his candidacy for the 15th District State Senate Seat, representing the counties of Adair, Casey, Pulaski, and Russell. "I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to follow in Senator Vernie McGaha's footsteps. Together we can continue to push our rural, conservative values to the forefront in Frankfort. I am the only candidate from Adair, Casey, and Russell counties and many area residents agree it is important to stay united and elect a hometown person to continue Senator McGaha's agenda. Todd Hoskins is a 17 year career agent for Kentucky Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance in Liberty. He and his wife, Tracie Wright Hoskins, have 3 children - Dakota 12, Riley 10, and Linnie Brooke 2. He is a lifelong resident of Casey County and a 1990 graduate of Casey County High School. In 1994 he graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Management. Todd, age 39, was born and raised on the family farm where his family has been active in the registered Angus cattle business for over 50 years. In addition to strong agricultural ties he understands what the education system means to the area - his family includes 3 generations of educators. His father-in-law is current 4-term Casey County Judge-Executive Ronald Wright and his uncle, Garland Hoskins, was a past Casey County Judge Executive and Mayor of Liberty. Todd has been involved with many professional and civic groups throughout his life. He has served as Chairman of Leadership Casey County, Liberty/Casey County Chamber of Commerce Board, Casey County Fair Board, President Hickory Hills Country Club, and the statewide Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield Advisory board. He is a 2010 graduate of the Kentucky Entrepreneurial Coaches Institute through the University of Kentucky. Todd is a member of Creston Baptist Church where he serves as Sunday School Director and Children's Message Leader. He has a passion for the outdoors and has served on committees for local National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) committees. "I have a strong passion for serving the people of my district. I am not a politician- but rather a common man who looks forward to putting common sense back into state government. As an elected leader I would do everything in my power to work with others as a team to move Kentucky forward. We have many issues that need to be addressed - the only way we will solve our problems is to work together for the common good of all." - Todd Hoskins This story was posted on 2012-04-05 08:08:00
