Adair Democratic ladies to attend national convention

National Federation of Democratic Women

By Victoria Pike

Last night at our regular meeting of the Adair County Democratic Women's Club we made plans to attend the National Federation of Democratic Women's Convention to be held in Louisville Kentucky May 29, 2012 - June 3, 2012 at the historic Brown Hotel.

Our ladies will be leaving on Thursday morning to help with the Taste of Kentucky room. This will be a sampling of favorite Kentucky foods set up in a special room for the ladies from all states to come by and have a bite of some of the foods the state is famous for.

We will be staying the night and attending the business meeting and roll call of the states on Friday morning with a luncheon to follow. Speakers for the event haven't been announced yet, but we are hoping for some of the Democrat parties finest to be in attendance.

Attending last night's meeting were Jamie Maurath, president; Sandy Rogers, vice-president; Robin Hancock, secretary; Cynthia, Rowe, Yvonne Arnold, Marsha Walker, Sheryl Moore, Margie Collins, Evelyn Phelps, Frances Glasgow, and Vicky Pike. A get well card was sent to Martha Martin who is recovering from surgery after an accident a few days ago. -Vicky Pike, publicity chair
