He was a member of a respected Russell County, KY family, a Missionary Baptist, and was a retired mechanic

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT, Sunday, March 25, 2012, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Richie Curtis and Bro. Larold Gosser officiating. Visitation is after 11amCT, Sunday. Burial will be in the Jamestown Cemetery, N. Main Street, Jamestown, KY.

Byron Whittle, Russell County, KY (1921-2012)

He was born March 21, 1921, in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Lona Hart Whittle and the late Leo Whittle. He died Friday, March 23, 2012, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 91 years, 2 days.

He was affliliated with the Missionary Baptist Church and was a mechanic.

He preceded in death by his wife, Opal Holder Whittle, and two sisters, Orpha Whittle and Flora Conn.

He is surved by:
  • One son: Glenn Whittle, Arizona

  • One grandson: James Whittle, Colorado

  • Two great grandchildren

  • One sister: Lois (Keith) Dunbar, Russell Springs, KY
