B.F. Chewning Art: More on names on utensils

Comments re photo 44308 Folk art of BF Chewning Knives forks spoon photos by Kenny Davis, Slidell, LA, formerly of Adair County, KY

By Kenny Davis

I believe the name Anna on one of the forks would be his daughter Anna Mary Chewning. Anna married John Perry Hutchison, my Great Grandfather.

The name Mary, on the small fork would be my mother, Mary Kathryn Hutchison,my mother lived at the boarding house that her Granny Anna owned and operated from about 1930 to 1940 or so. Mr. Chewning's wife, Sarah Anne Cowherd died in 1919, I believe. --Kenny Davis
