Accident in Campbellsville, KY takes life of pedestrian

61 year old Aleksandr Karpetyan of 211 Misty Drive, Campbellsville, KY, pronounced deceased at Taylor Regional Hospital

Campbellsville Police Department reports that a pedestrian was killed on KY 55 at Misty Drive, Campbellsville, KY, Saturday at 9:16pmET/8:16pmCT. According to the police report narrative the incident occured as follows:


Police Report narrative:

Shirley A. Mardis, 69, Campbellsville, KY, was northbound on KY Hwy 55 when 61 year old Aleksandr Karpetyan of 211 Misty Drive, Campbellsville, KY, was standing in the middle of the roadway wearing dark clothing and was not seen by Mardis.

Mardis was unable to avoid collision and struck Karapteyan. Mardis was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital by Campbellsviile/Taylor County EMS and was treated fro minor injuries. Karapetyan was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital and was pronounced deseased at 9:18pmET.There are no criminal charges pending. - Campbellsville Police Department
