Monroe Co., KY fatal accident, Saturday, March 17, 2012 TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY FOUNTAIN RUN -The Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, is investigating a fatal collision that occurred 5 miles south of Fountain Run on KY 87 at approximately 2:30amCT, Saturday, March 17. 2012. A 1988 Chevy S10 being operated by Arnulfo Alva Facio (age 34), of Fountain Run, was traveling northbound on KY 87 when he lost control of the vehicle and struck an earth embankment. Facio, who was not belted, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene by the Monroe County Coroner. A passenger in vehicle, Mario Alejandre (age 34), was belted and transported to T.J. Sampson Hospital, where he was treated and released. It is suspected that alcohol and speed are contributing factors in the collision. Trooper Logan Richardson is continuing the investigation into the collision. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Monroe County Sheriffs Department, Monroe County EMS, and the Monroe County Coroner.
