Jesse Parton, Casey County, KY (1930-2012)

He was the patriarch of a large, respected Casey County, KY family. He is survived by 31 direct living descendants. He was retired after a career with Nu Tone in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Jesse Parton passed away Friday March 16, 2012 at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center in Danville, KY. He was 81.

Funeral services are 10amET/9amCT, Tuesday March 20, 2012 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Edward Parton officiating. Burial will be in at Valley Oak Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 6pmET-9pmET/5pm-8pmCT, at the funeral home.



Born Wednesday, October 22, 1930 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late John and Serena Haste Parton. He died Friday, March 16, 2012, in Danvillle, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 81 years, 4 months, and 25 days.

He was the widower of Nannie Godbey Parton.

He was retired from Nu Tone in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Survivors include
  • Four sons, Willard Godbey of Vine Grove, KY and James Parton, Harold Parton, and Jerome Parton all from Cincinnati, Ohio;

  • One sister: Priscilla Naugle of New Jersey

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Eighteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Wilbert Godbey and Lawrence Parton; daughter, Mary Annie Schwad ; three brothers, Hershel Parton, Clarence Parton and Lawrence Parton and two sisters, Matrie Watson and Bana Buis.
