Blue Raiders lose in opening round of NAIA National tournament. Adair County's Kalen Kimberland was high for the Blue Raiders with 15 points; and Darren Ballou, Columbia, KY, scored 3. Evangel University, Springfield, MO, defeated Lindsey Wilson College's Blue Raiders 60-49, in an opening round game played Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Kansas City's Municipal Auditorium.

The Blue Raiders were in the NAIA Men's Basketball national tournament for the tenth time overall and the seventh time since 2000. The Blue Raiders have an overall record of 6-10 in the tournament, but have now lost two-consecutive openers. In 2009, Lindsey Wilson lost to Texas Wesleyan in its tourney opener. Overall, the Blue Raiders entered the game second nationally in 3-point field goal percentage (.388), but ended this game just 5-of-20 (.250).

Evangel University Stephen Cotton, No. 20, Drives past the most famous basketball player in the NAIA, Lindsey Wilson College's Chase Spreen, No. 22. Evangel, of Springfield, MO, won the game 60-49. Cotton scored 15 points for Evangel; Spreen had 6. Adair County's Kalen Kimberland was high for the Blue Raiders, with 15 points; fellow Columbian Darren Ballou had 3.
