Betty Jeffries, Greensburg, KY (d. March 12, 2012)

She was the matriarch of a large, respected family. She leaves 29 direct living descendants and one step son

Betty Jeffries Lewis age 67 of Greensburg, KY died Monday, March 12, 2012 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Friday, March 16, 2012 at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton with burial in the Jeffries Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pm, Thursday, March 15, 2012, and and after 9amCT, Friday at the funeral home.



She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Sarah Elizabeth Armstrong Daniel.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Gordon Jeffries and a sister Joyce Daniel.

She is survived by her husband Edward Lewis of Greensburg, KY, and the following:
  • Four daughters and their husbands: Cynthia and Edward Smith of Liletown, KY; Gloria and Ken Jolly of Leesburg, VA: Edna and John Gillock of Horse Cave, KY; and Trina and Andy Parnell of Center, KY

  • One stepson: Timmy Roberts of Lexington, Virginia

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Eleven great grandchildren with another due in July

  • One brother: Marty Daniel of Dunnville, KY

  • One sister and brother in law Sadie and Norman Clayton of Glasgow, VA

  • Several nieces, nephews and cousins

  • Brothers in law and sisters in law: John and Marilyn Wesley, Floyd and Betty Robertson and Robert and Joyce Lewis

  • A friend: Sidney Hensley
