Columbia/Adair Radio telethon for E. KY storm victims By Greg Thomas, Adair County Emergency Management Director With the devastating storms and tornados that hit Eastern Kentucky this past week, the City of Columbia Mayor; Mark Harris and Adair County Judge Executive; Ann Melton, will be holding a radio telethon to assist the residents of that area. All money donated over the radio and brought into the Mayor's office, City Hall, 116 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, or Judge's office, Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY, on or before March 16, 2012, will go directly to the affected area. The telethon will take place on Monday, March 12, 2012 on WAIN 93.5 and WHVE 92.7 from 4pm to 5pmCT. The phone numbers to call will be 270-384-2134 and 270-384-2135 during the telethon. The city and county are still collecting supplies for the needed area but in talking with officials from that area they have said that monitary donations would help the residents be able to purchase items needed.
