Hood named Mid-South Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week

Lindsey Wilson College freshman Jordan Hood is the Mid South Conference Pitcher of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday, March 5, 2012 in Louisville, KY.



Hood captured her first career conference weekly award by winning three times last week while not allowing a run.

The Locust Fork, AL., native surrendered just five hits and five walks while striking out 26 in her 17 innings of work last week. Hood combined with teammate Cara Law to hurl a perfect game in an 8-0 win over Midway College. Law was last week's MSC player of the week.

With the three wins, Hood improves to 6-2 on the season with a 1.29 ERA. She leads the team with 53 strikeouts in 38 innings.

No. 14-ranked Lindsey Wilson is 15-2 overall this season and tied atop the conference with a 2-0 record. - from Lindsey Wilson College
