Lindsey Wilson Baseball takes 2 games, UVA/Wise, 1 at Egnew

Lindsey Wilson College Baseball took advantage of the mistakes for a 6-5 win on Sunday afternoon, March 4, 2012, at Egnew Park, the basefield field at Lindsey Wilson Sports Park, 820 Hanley Lane, Columbia, KY. The win helped the Blue Raiders claim their first series win of the Mid-South Conference season, finishing the weekend 2-1 against the visiting Cavaliers. With the win, Lindsey Wilson improves to 10-6 overall and 2-1 in the MSC, while UVa.-Wise stays below .500 at 7-9 and 1-2 in the league.



Darren Travers (2-1) was credited with the win after not allowing a hit and striking out three batters in the final 2-2/3 innings. Chris Smith (2-2) took the loss for UVA/Wise. Shortstop Leandro Perez and center fielder Manuel Alonso paced the Blue Raiders at the plate with two hits each, including two RBIs for Perez.
