Mr. Walter Leslie Wright, 90, of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. Walter L. Wright will be conducted at 1pmCT, Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery with full Military Honors. Bro. Landon Hadley, Bro. Steve Janes, and Bro. Blake Jessie will be officiating. Visitation is requested 2pm-8pmCT, Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT Monday until time of the funeral service.



Walter Leslie Wright, Green Co., KY (1921-2012)

Mr. Walter Leslie Wright was the son of the late Amos Ezra Wright and Willia Wood Judd Wright. He was born on September 15, 1921 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Friday, March 2, 2012 in Greensburg, Green Co., KY. He was 90 years, five months and 16 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, and was also former President of the Green Co. Singing Convention. He was a Veteran of WWII having served in the United States Army, and was a member of the Rod Lowe Post #124 and the James L. Pruitt V.F.W. Post #5813.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Eula Elizabeth Dangerfield Wright of Greensburg. They were united in marriage on March 26, 1949.

Other survivors include:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Lynn and Gary Curry of Greensburg, KY

  • Two granddaughters: Erika and Randy Sprowles of Campbellsville, KY; and Allison Simpson and Kyle Moffett of Pendleton, KY

  • A great-granddaughter: Ava Kate Sprowles of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two step-grandchildren: Tessa and Davie Milby of Tennessee, and Ryan Curry of Richmond, KY

  • Four step-great-grandchildren: Savannah Taylor, Micha Curry, Brody Milby, and Brooklyn Taylor

  • A sister: Luetta Atwell of Hart County, KY
  • And a host of other relatives and many friends
  • Mr. Wright was also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister: Owen Wright, Frank Wright, Amos Wright, Hobert Wright, and Marian Wright.

    Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, or the Greensburg Baptist Church Christian Life Center, which can be made at the funeral home.
