Next ACGU Club meeting focus: Garden Soils, blueberries Time to start thinking about gardening By Barbara Armitage, Adair County Garden Club The Adair County Garden Club (ACGU) will hold its March meeting, at 1pmCT, Thursday, March 22, 2012, at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY. The month's class will focus on Garden Soils, with Nick Roy, Adair County Agricultural Agent, the guest instructor. Mr. Roy will provide valuable information to help you prepare your garden soil for spring planting with particular emphasis on growing blueberries. The Garden Club meets at 1pmCT, on each 4th Thursday in a variety of locations. Each meeting is designed to expand your knowledge of gardening techniques, landscape ideas, environmental issues, natural resources, birds, wildlife and more. There are no fees or dues to be a member of the Garden Club and everyone is welcome. We are committed to making Adair County a more beautiful, safer and healthier place to live.
