Storm March 2, 2012: Softball size hail hits Columbia Walmart

A report from Columbia Walmart that some of store's skylights have been knocked out by golf ball size hail. A visit to the store at 5:40pmCT found it closed temporarily. The Columbia City Police and Adair County Sheriffs are on the scene. A spokesperson for the ACSO said he thought the closing would be very temporary and that it might be re-opened very quickly.

Walmart still looks busy even while temporarily shut

Hail, described by some as softball size, broke some skylights in the huge center, necessitating a closure for what was hoped would be a very brief time. Evidence of the hailstorm can still be seen on the grass at the Burger King Shopping center and along the curbing.
