News from Lindsey Wilson College

LOUISVILLE, KY- Kalen Kimberland, Columbia, KY, is the Mid-South Conference Mens Basketball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday, February 2, 2011.

The weekly honor is Kimberlands second of the season and of his career. Kimberland also earned the award last year on December 5, 2012.

Kimberland averaged 21.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists while helping the Blue Raiders to a pair of home wins last week over No. 20 Campbellsville University and and St. Catharine College.

The former Adair County High School star matched his career-high in Thursdays 77-68 win over Campbellsville, scoring 26 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field.

On Saturday, Kimberland finished with 17 points, three rebounds and two steals in the Blue Raiders 64-58 come-from-behind win over St. Catharine.
The win helped Lindsey Wilson secure its first regular season conference title since the Blue Raiders tied for the league crown with Georgetown College, Georgetown, KY. during the 2004-05 season.

Kimberland finished the week shooting 54.5 percent (12-of-22) from the field, including making five of his 10 three-point attempts. He also hit 14-of-19 free throws.
