Lindsey Wilson Softball Wins Two, Drops One at Alabama Arctic Blast

The No. 14-ranked Lindsey Wilson College softball won two of three games Saturday, February 25, 2012 in the final day of the Alabama Arctic Blast hosted by Shorter University of College Park, GA.



Lindsey Wilson (9-2) beat No. 13-ranked Auburn University Montgomery (AL) 2-0 and Trevecca Nazarene (TN) University 5-4 before falling in finale 11-10 in eight innings to Martin Methodist (TN) College.

Lindsey Wilson's Kristina Krupinski hurled a complete-game, three-hit shutout to beat AUM 2-0. Krupinski finished with seven strikeouts en route to her first collegiate win. Jamie Williams provided a pair of hits while driving in both Lindsey Wilson runs in the win.

Lindsey Wilson scored twice in the fifth inning to beat Trevecca Nazarene 5-4. Josie Cox and Jane Egiazarova combined to go 4-for-7 at the plate with all five RBIs.

Jordan Hood picked up the win in relief throwing 4-1/3 scoreless innings. She allowed just one hit while striking out six.

In the finale, Lindsey Wilson scored nine times in the sixth and seventh innings to push Martin Methodist into extra innings. But the RedHawks prevailed scoring a pair of runs to Lindsey Wilson's one in the eighth.

Lindsey Wilson's Jordan Gilland went 2-for-3 with three RBIs while Egiazarova, Alexis Rodgers and Andrea Whelan each added two hits.

Lindsey Wilson committed a season-high four errors in the loss resulting in five unearned runs.
