Joseph Shirl Gillock passed away Wednesday February 22, 2012 at the Veteran Hospital in Lexington,KY. He was 70.

Funeral services will be at 11amET/10amCT, Saturday February 25, 2012 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Russell Shaffer officiating. Burial is in Clearview Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad. Visitation will be 6pm-9pmET/5pm-8pmCT, Friday, February 24, 2012 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

He was born in Casey County, KY on Tuesday, January 27, 1942. He was the son of the late Floyd Herron and Olavine Hadley Gillock. He died Wednesday February 22, 2012 at the Veteran Hospital in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age 70 years and 26 days.

He was a dairy farmer, an Army veteran, and member of the Clearview Baptist Church.

Survivors include:
  • Sons: Mike Luttrell of Liberty; Joe D. Gillock of Liberty, KY; and Ricky and Marty Luttrell both of Liberty, KY

  • Step daughter: Darlene Luttrell of Liberty, KY

  • Eleven: grandchildren

  • Eight great-grandchildren

  • Four brothers, Hollis Gillock of Liberty, KY; Larry Gillock of Russell Springs, KY; Herlin Gillock of Somerset, KY; and Dean Gillock of Campbellsille, KY

  • And three sisters: Mae Elliott of Danville, KY; Vina Marks of Cincinnati, Ohio and Wilma Owens of Florida
