Okey Lee Roberts, Jamestown, KY (1935-2012)

He was the patriarch of a large, respected Jamestown, KY family. He leaves 15 direct living descendants. He was a retired foundry worker Dayton Walther in Carrollton, KY and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Okey Lee Roberts, age 77 years of Jamestown, KY passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 at 3:40pmCT at the Russell County Hospital in Russell Springs, KY after a long illness.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation or public viewing.

Okey Lee Roberts was born Thursday, January 10, 1935 in Calvin, West Virginia the son of the late Ephriam and Dortha Jane Mullins Roberts of West Virginia.He died Monday, February 20, 2012 in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY at the age of 77 years, 1 month, and 10 days.

Mr. Roberts is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Larry Roberts of Houston, Texas: Jason Roberts and wife Angie of Jamestown, KY: and Gilbert Lee Cox II of Russell Springs, KY

  • Three daughters: Peggy Cox and husband Jeff of Costa Mesa, California: Shella Harris and husband Carl of Russell Springs, KY; Julie Lane and husband Doug of Deputy, Indiana

  • Eight grandchildren: Brandy Graham, William Whalen, Amanda Roberts, Emma Roberts, Hannah Roberts, Lexi Roberts and Austin Roberts, and Gilbert Lee Cox III

  • One great grandchild: Chole Graham

  • Three brothers and four sisters survive He was preceded in death by one grandson: Dwayne Collins in 1991.
Mr. Roberts was a retired foundry worker for Dayton Walther in Carrollton, KY and was a Kentucky Colonel.
