Cyclist dies in 3-vehicle accident on W. Main, Campbellsville, KY

Rider loses control of motorcycle, crosses center line, sideswipes on pickup, then strikes another. Taylor County coroner's office pronounces 23 year old Christopher Johnson, Bowling Green, KY, deceased at the scene.

The Campbellsville Police Department responded to an investigation of a fatality collision on Monday, February 20, 2012.

The collision happened on West Main Street, KY 323, near Taylor County Rural Electric at approximately 3:27pmET.



The collision occurred when a 2002 Suzuki Motorcycle was traveling West on Main Street, being operated by Christopher Johnson, age 23 of Bowling Green.

Johnson lost control, crossed over the center line, and sideswiped a 1996 Chevy pickup traveling East, being operated by Todd Corbin, age 43 of Campbellsville, KY, The motorcycle then continued on, striking a second vehicle, a 2005 Dodge pickup which was also traveling east on Main Street, being operated by William Corbin, age 52 of Campbellsville, KY.Christopher Johnson, operator of the motorcycle, was pronounced deceased by the Taylor County Coroner's Office at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The Campbellsville Police Department investigated and was assisted by the Campbellsville Fire/Rescue Department and Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS. Jason Simpson, Campbellsville Police Department, was the investigating officer.
