Ice House America open at 845 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY

2012-02-16 - 845 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Ice production is ongoing, as needed, 24 hours a day now at 845 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY, where 16 lbs. of bagged ice is available for $2, or ice bought in bulk is 22 lbs for is $2. Ryan Hadley, a student at Adair County High School, was helping his dad, owner Clayton Hadley, on the first day of operation today, Thursday, February 16, 2012. The ice is made from filtered, dechlorinated water, and drinking water, is also available through the vending machine, at 25cents per gallon, less in bulk. Mr. Hadley said he thought the 24 hour service and convenient location would be handy for campers, fishermen and picnickers, there is already an interest from local restaurants who would be needing extra ice at peak times.
