Richard Marrapodi, 23, Columbia, KY dies in Knifley fire

No foul play suspected at this time. Autopsy scheduled in Louisville, KY. Investigation is continuing.

ADAIR COUNTY - Detective Jamie Richard and Arson Investigator Alex Wesley are investigating a fatal fire that occurred Friday, February 17, 2012, at 8601 Knifley Road in Columbia, KY.



Post 15 Columbia received a call at 11:46pmCT, from Adair County 911 Dispatch advising that they had received a call of a fire at 8601 Knifley Road, Columbia, KY.

Upon arrival, Fire Department personnel discovered a male subject inside the residence deceased. The victim, 23 year old Richard Marrapodi, age 23, of Columbia, kY, was pronounced deceased by the Adair County Coroner.< BR>
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, however, no foul play is suspected at this time. An autopsy has been scheduled in Louisville and the results are pending at this time. This investigation is continuing.

Scene of fire which takes life of 23 year old Adair man

A police line restricts this burned out mobile home at 8601 Knifley Road in Columbia, KY where a fatal fire occurred Friday, February 17, 2012, which took the life of Richard Marrapodi, 23, Columbia, KY. Darrell Baker of the Knifley Fire Department was first on the scene. He said that, in addition to three fire trucks from the Knifley Fire Department, there were two trucks from Clementsville and three from the Columbia/Adair County VFD. Kentucky State Police were on the scene, as were Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss and Deputy Justin Claywell. Mr. Marrapodi was pronounced deceased by Adair County Coroner Todd Akin.
