David A. Meeks, age 58, of Somerset, formerly of Gilpin, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 2pmET/1pmCT Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Trace Fork Baptist Church with Bro. Troy McGahan officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 11amET, at the Church on Saturday, February 18, 2012.

Born July 10, 1953, in Casey Co., KY, he was a son of the late Veber and Lucy Lawhorn Meeks. He died Thursday, February 16, 2012, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 58 years, 7 months, and 6 days.

David was a member at Trace Fork Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling and fishing.Survivors include his caregiver and niece, Crystal (Richard) Abbott and caregivers and cousins, Dina (Raymond) Poff and Lisa Sharp.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Delno G. Meeks.Arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY in charge of arrangements. and guestbook available at the website.
