Julia Pickett Thompson: Great memories of two great doctors By Julia Pickett Thompson I lived across the street from Dr. Nell's office. In the neighborhood with Dr. Salato living next door and Dr. Nell was across the street. Since Dr. Salato's office was downtown and I needed a doctor for a scratched knee or elbow I would run to Dr. Nell's office. He would see me immediately and clean the wound and bandage me up. Mother had no idea I was taking in the services across the street until one day I came home with my leg bandaged. He would always welcome me with a smile and of course, a treat before I left. Good memories of someone who cared and took time out of his busy day to show some kindness to a neighborhood child. - Julia Pickett Thompson This story was posted on 2012-02-07 08:35:59
