By Bobby D Morrison

I very much remember this large snow.

We were out of school for several days.

I was a Junior in High School. My older brother Ray had his driver's license and was able to drive dad's lumber truck.

We were so bored that after a while when the roads were broke on Harvey's Ridge, Chance, KY we improvised a mode for excitement.

We took a car hood from Wheat's Mechanics and attached a long rope to the back of the truck. The most exciting part was when Ray was going around a curve with the adjoining field sloping off we were swung out into the field, kind of like a water skier, was exciting until we realized a light pole was between us and the truck.

Thankfully, the rope broke before it contacted the light pole and we did not crash.

If we had crashed into the light pole we might not be here today to tell the story. --Bobby D Morrison
