Lebanon, KY man arrested at Taylor Co. Animal Shelter

A Lebanon man, Lee Otto, 31, 3365 St. Mary's Road, was arrested and charged with impersonating a peace officer following an incident at the Taylor County Animal Shelter, where workers became suspicious and called the Taylor County Sheriff's department. TCSO officers arrested Otto. He has been lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center in Campbellsville, KY. THE TCSO investigation continues. -CM

According to the Taylor County Sheriff's Department, in a Criminal News Release:

"On Monday, January 30, 2012, at approximately 12am noon ET, Lee Otto arrived at the Taylor County Animal Shelter driving a large camouflage military vehicle and dressed in camouflage military clothing with patches identifying him to be a Fort Knox Animal Control Officer.




"Otto also had a chain around his neck with a Fort Knox Animal Control Badge attached. he was armed with two pistols, one in a holster on his hip and the other in a holster on his thigh. He also had a large knife in a sheath on his belt.

"Due to recent incidents which ave occurred at the shelter, employees became suspicious of Otto and called the Sheriff's Department. According to shelter employees, Otto was also at the Shelter on Wednesday dressed in the same attire.

"He also identified himself as an Animal Control Officer with Fort Knox at that time.

"While investigating this incident it was discovered that Otto was not an Animal Control Officer with Fort Knox and had actually been barred from the Fort Knox Military Base.

"Also during this investigation, aerial photos of the animal shelter property and surrounding properties were discovered on Otto along with a list of employees' names.

"Otto was charge with impersonating a Peace Officer and was lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center, in Campbellsville, KY

"Past records show that Otto has been charged with this same offense in Marion County. Over the course of the investigations, other arrests and/or charges may be forthcoming."
