Survivalist Red Cedar ledge was childhood Secret Place It was better Mom didn't know. But Ledge with Survivalist Red Cedar was also a Boy's Secret Place, so high over Russell Creek a fall could have been fatal. But what a place to daydream - what a time to grow up in America. By Sammy Kassem Oh, my! Does this photo bring back thoughts of my youth. That little ledge was my secret place as a young boy growing up. It was only a few yards from my home, as many, are aware, I'm sure. How my mother would have shuddered, if she had only known the places her little blonde headed boy tried to go (lol). Many hours I have sat right there, feet dangling over the ledge, with my mind somewhere only a kid's daydreams can go. My thanks to Billy Joe Fudge for the picture Sure brings back thoughts of a time that was so special; and what a great era to grow up in in this nation.I miss those days. They were sure a wonderful time in my life. --Sammy Kassem Comments re photo 43650 Kentucky Color Survivalist Red Cedar Tree over Russell Creek This story was posted on 2012-01-31 03:49:13
