March priority deadline approaching for SCC scholarship applications By Cindy Clouse News from Somerset Community College The scholarship application deadline is fast approaching for students planning to attend Somerset Community College for the fall semester which begins in August 2012. To receive first priority, scholarship applications should be submitted by March 1, 2012. Somerset Community College is able to offer a variety of scholarships to deserving students thanks to the many generous organizations and individuals who have made gifts to SCC specifically for this purpose. All current and prospective students are encouraged to apply for scholarships by the March 1 deadline. Scholarships are a great source of aid because they are considered a gift aid and do not have to be repaid. There are academic and needs-based scholarships available as well as scholarships for students who live in a specific county and for students enrolled in a certain field of study. Students may download an application online and mail to: Scholarship Coordinator, 808 Monticello Street, Somerset, KY 42501. For more information about the scholarships available or to download a scholarship application, go to somerset.kctcs.edu/Costs_and_Financial_Aid. You can also contact the scholarship coordinator, Matthew Thompson at (606) 425-8294 or by email at matthew.thompson@kctcs.edu. This story was posted on 2012-01-25 02:42:11
