LWC's Basketball climbs to No. 11 in NAIA Top-25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, MO - The Lindsey Wilson College men's basketball team climbed three spots to No. 11 in latest NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches' Top-25 Poll, released on Monday, January 16, 2012, by NAIA officials.

The No. 11 ranking is the highest of the season for the Blue Raiders. Lindsey Wilson has also been No. 14, No. 16 and No. 18 in the poll this season.



The Blue Raiders (13-4) received 189 voting points from the panel of head coaches representing each conference, the independents and unaffiliated groups that make up the national raters.

Lindsey Wilson has won three straight including Saturday's improbable 79-78 win over Georgetown (KY) College. Senior Chase Spreen made an 80-footer as time expired to beat the then-No. 5-ranked Tigers.

A pair of MSC teams joined Lindsey Wilson in this week's poll. No. 7 Georgetown (15-3) received 224 voting points and No. 20 Campbellsville (KY) University (13-5) picked up 102 voting points.

Shorter (GA) University (17-0) moved into the top spot in the poll after receiving 280 voting points, including nine first-place votes. Oklahoma Baptist University (15-1) dropped one spot to No. 2 and Robert Morris (IL) University (16-1) remained at No. 3 in the poll.

The next poll is scheduled to be announced on Monday, January 23, 2011.
