She wasa member of a large, respected family with strong ties in Adair, Taylor, and Russell and other areas. She was a homemaker and member of the Campbellsville Christian Church

Ova Ellabeth Bledsoe, age 94 years, formerly of Columbia and Campbellsville passed awayMonday, January 9, 2012 at 7:30amET, at Life Care Center of Bardstown, Bardstown, KY.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10:30amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Raymond Martin the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1275 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 4pmCT, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the funeral home.


Ova Ellabeth Bledsoe, Russell Co., KY native (1917-2012)

She was born on Sunday, September 2, 1917 in Russell County, KY.She was the daughter of the late Adolphus F. and Allie May Spencer Andrew. She died Monday, January 12, 2012, in Bardstown, Nelson County, KY, at the age of 94 years, 4 months, and 10 days.

She the widow of Marion Ralph Bledsoe who preceded her in death on September 6, 1983.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Martha Kay Bledsoe on April 30, 1974 and Thelma Knifley on November 12, 2002.

She is survived by the following:
  • A son-in-law: W.R. Knifley of Glasgow, KY

  • Two brothers: Tom Andrew of Columbia, KY; Ruel Andrew of Russell Springs, KY

  • One sister: Dimple Gilbert of Jamestown, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Gregory Allen Knifley of Westchester, OH; and Ella Kay Roberts of Glasgow, KY

  • Great grandchildren: Hunter Knifley, Bryan Roberts, Haley Christensen, Lily Christensen, Chole Christensen, Emily Christensen, Austin Roberts and Olivia Roberts

  • And many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters Guy, Joe, Sam and Roy Andrew, Lena Agee, Nora Andrew and Mava Back,

She was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church and a homemaker.
