Lorene Cox age 90 years of the Free Union Community, Columbia, KY passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 2:25 A.M. at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service is at 1pmCT, Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Kelly Burton, Jr., the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Free Union Cemetery, 4642 Sano Road, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Kelly Burton, Jr., the officiating clergy. Visitation after 3:30pmCT, Friday, December 24, 2011.



Pallbearers: Chris Conover, Ronnie Cox, David Cox, Daryl Cox, Steven Cox and Avery Denton.

Lorene Cox, Adair County, KY (1921-2011)

She was born on May 18, 1921 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Jim and Callie Kerr Brockman. She died Thursday, December 22, 2011, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 90 years, 7 months, and 4 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Omer W. Cox on January 30, 1997.She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Betty Conover and husband Herman of Columbia, KY

  • One son: Carlos Cox and his wife Cleoda of Indianapolis, IN

  • One sister: Arlene Helton of Indianapolis, IN

  • Seven grandchildren.

  • Fourteen great grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Cox attended the Free Union Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, in charge of funeral arrangements.
