George (Hack) Monday, Casey Co., KY (1933-2011)

He was a member of a large, respected Casey County family. He was a member of the Block Pentecostal Church, and a retired farmer who loved horses.

George "Hack" Monday of Liberty, KY, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Casey County Hospital, Liberty, KY, after a long illness. He was 78.

Funeral services are 1pmET/12pm noon CT, Saturday, December 10, 2011 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Gary Lavender officiating. Burial will be at the Caney Fork Cemetery.Visitation is Friday from 5pm-9pmCT/4pm-8pmCT at the funeral home.Pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews.

Born on Wednesday, October 4, 1933 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Claud and Emily Derringer Monday. He died Wednesday, December 7, 2011, in Liberty, Casey Co., KY, at the age of 78 years, 2 months, and three days.

He was a retired farmer and loved horses. He was a member of the Block Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three brothers: Jess H. Monday of Liberty, KY[ Herlin (Veldean) Monday of Liberty, KY, and Verlin Dee (Mildred) Monday of Anderson, Indiana

  • One brother-in-law: Virgil Ray Hatton of Berea, KY

  • On sister-in-law: Rebecca Wheeler of Anderson, Indiana

  • Twenty-eight nieces and nephews

  • And 45 great-nieces and nephews
He is preceded in death by three sisters, Edyth Monday, Beatrice Hatton and Irene Taylor; three brothers, Clevie Monday, Thelbert Monday and Glen Monday; and 5 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Block Pentecostal Church.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
