Curtis D. True, Liberty, KY (1934-2011)

He was a 35 year retired mail carrier for the US Postal Service, a 1952 Graduate of Liberty High School, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member and deacon at First Christian Church. He was a US Army veteran and a member of the Craftsman Masonic Lodge #722, where he just received his 50 year pin. Curtis was a founding member of the Hickory Hills Country Club, where he enjoyed golfing. He was also active in Casey County Senior Citizens

Curtis D. True, age 77, of Liberty, KY passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY.

Funeral services will be at 11amET, Friday, December 9, 2011, at the First Christian Church, 323 Middleburg St Liberty, KY, with Bro. Homer Hecht officiating. Burial will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad. Visitation will be from 6pm-9pmET/5pm8pmCT, Thursday, December 8, 2011, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY with Masonic services at 8pmET/7pmCt. There will also be a visitation after 10amET/9amCT, on Friday at the Church.



Pallbearers will be John Mesplay, Tom Lucas, Ray Williams, Kevin Watson, Craig McAnelly, Brad Wesley, and Dean Rigney, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth King, David McAnelly, J.O. Wilkinson, Danny Jeffries, George Kendrick, Morris Myers, Joe Burton, and Phillip Scott.

He was born Friday, February 23, 1934, in Casey Co., KY. He was a son of the late Roy and Minnie Morrison True. He died Tuesday, December 6, 2011, in Danville, Boyle Co., KY, at the age of 77 years, 9 months, and 13 days.

Curtis True was a 35 year retired mail carrier for the US Postal Service, a 1952 Graduate of Liberty High School, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member and deacon at First Christian Church. He was a US Army veteran and a member of the Craftsman Masonic Lodge #722, where he just received his 50 year pin. Curtis was a founding member of the Hickory Hills Country Club, where he enjoyed golfing. He was also active in Casey County Senior Citizens.

Survivors include his dear wife, Barbara Reid True and the following:
  • A son: Gary (Mindy) True of Harrodsburg, KY

  • A daughter: Audrey (Scott) Rousey of Hustonville, KY

  • A sister: Gay Steinhauer of Cincinnati, OH

  • Two grandchildren, Connor and Courtney

  • A niece: Karen Lucas of Westchester, OH

  • And a host of other family and friends.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
