LWC Choral Groups to perform at Columbia Baptist Church

COLUMBIA, KY - Lindsey Wilson College's choral groups will treat audience members to a potpourri of music on Sunday night.

The Lindsey Wilson Concert Choir and Lindsey Wilson Singers will perform "A Musical Potpourri" at 6:30pmCT on Sunday, November 20, at Columbia Baptist Church, 201 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.The concert is part of the 2011-12 Lindsey Wilson Cultural Affairs Series. It is free and open to the public.



"This concert plays on the lesser known definition of potpourri - a medley or anthology of various elements.' There are lots of diverse elements to this program, and when they are brought together I think audience members will find that they create a marvelous musical potpourri," said LWC Director of Choral Ensembles Gerald Chafin..

Sunday night's concert is student-designed, and it will include student conductors and instrumentalists..

"The full range of Lindsey Wilson students' talent will be on display," Chafin said..

The program will feature selections by Antonio Vivaldi, Johann M. Haydn, modern Western composers and a South African praise song..
