The accident occurred at approximately 6:16amET/5:16amCT, Tuesday, November 15, 2011. The Taylor County Sheriff's Office reports that, according to witness statements, Smith was traveling south in a 2003 Chevy Impala, on KY 55 and lost control, the result of slippery road conditions, it is believed, and, began to spin.
